My Story
My name is Alexandria Joesica Smalls and I’m straight outta Brooklyn–born and raised! I’m a lover of the arts; acting, writing, directing, singing–you name it and I’m sure I’ve dabbled in it and probably loved it! I’m hella Black, hella proud and hella educated! Some of my hobbies are writing poetry, watching documentaries (I just love learning about new topics and better understanding others), singing karaoke with friends, crocheting all kinds of things, taking long walks, scenic drives, traveling to beautiful places and listening to music! I’m passionate about social justice and making a change in this world to better the lives of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color). Much of my studies have been in the areas of the Dramatic Arts and Black Studies. As a playwright, I aim to bring real life situations to life talking about the “uncomfortable” topics like race, racism, gender, social inequities, white supremacy and how all of these things affect relationships. Interrupting Racism the podcast, is my current contribution to these conversations.
There’s so much more to get to know about me and why I started this podcast! If you wanna get a better understanding, take a listen to the trailer episode of Interrupting Racism, Allow Me To Introduce Myself where I tell you more about who I am, where I studied and what this show is all about. Anything else you wanna know? Hit me up in a DM @interruptingracismpodcast on Instagram, DM me @InruptinRacism on Twitter, via email or leave a comment on one of the blog posts (keep it business!)

“I started listening to podcasts a long time ago but I was like ‘uh, they’re not talking about things [I’m passionate about]’ . So when you dropped your podcast, I listened to the first episode, the second episode and I can’t wait for the third one!”
